Mumbai, Nov 18 (IANS) Actor Rajendra Chawla, known for playing character-driven roles in shows like "Saas Bina Sasural" and "Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai", has been roped in to play actor Varun Badola's doctor on screen in "Mere Dad Ki Dulhan".

"Dr. Pandey (his character) is like a friend, philosopher and doctor for Amber Sharma (Varun) who is cranky person. Amber is someone who doe'n't let anyone interfere in his life but will eventually become Dr. Pand'y's best friend and will be seen sharing his problems," said Rajendra.

The show also stars Shweta Tiwari and Anjali Tatrari.

"Working with Varun and Shweta again is like homecoming. On my first day of the shoot I thought 't's been long time I hav'n't met Shweta, she must have forgotten me. However, when I met her, she excitedly screamed 'Look, who has come!' and welcomed me whole-heartedly. Varun is an effortless actor and a great writer. Having known each other for long, he made it very comfortable for me both on-screen and offscreen," said Rajendra.

Rajendra has previously worked with Varun and Shweta on different shows.
