9/10/1943Satyendra Chandra Bardhan, Vakkom Abdul Khader, Fouja Singh, Boniface Pereira and Anandan were hanged on charges of conspiracy to ""wage war against the King"" under the Ememy Agents Ordinance (which was given retrospective effect) at Madras Jail. They sang Vande Mataram and shouted ""Bharat Mata Ki Jai"" when they were being hanged.
9/10/1943Mughal conqueror Babur Shah (1483-1530) defeats Ibrahim Lodi II, the Lodi Sultan of Delhi, and captures Delhi and the Koh-i-noor diamond, in the First Battle of Panipat. He founded the Mughal dynasty in India (1526-1761), consolidated by his grandson Akbar.
4/1/1985Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture was established during the 7th Plan period. The Institute started functioning independently since April 1987.
